Good Morning

God walked in the cool of the evening in the garden with Adam and Eve.

God has sought fellowship with His creation that was made in His image from the very beginning, and He is still seeking that fellowship with us!

Here am I Lord!

Throughout the Bible God spoke to His faithful servants and they answered,“here am I Lord”

Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Samuel and Ananias of Damascus answered, “here am I”.

During Isaiah's cleansing and call to ministry he reports,

“Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.” Isaiah 6:8 (NLT)

Our Lord is still calling to us today! This is our commission, our ministry!

Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Matt 28:18-20 (NLT)

We who accept His salvation must also recognize Him speaking to us. Are we willing to answer, Here Am I, Lord?

Parable of the Great Feast

Hearing this, a man sitting at the table with Jesus exclaimed, “What a blessing it will be to attend a banquet in the Kingdom of God!” Luke 14:15 (NLT)

21 “The servant returned and told his master what they had said. His master was furious and said, ‘Go quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and invite the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’ 22 After the servant had done this, he reported, ‘There is still room for more.’ 23 So his master said, ‘Go out into the country lanes and behind the hedges and urge anyone you find to come, so that the house will be full. 24 For none of those I first invited will get even the smallest taste of my banquet.’” Luke 14:21-24 (NLT)

if you do not carry your own cross and follow me, you cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:27 (NLT)

you cannot become my disciple without giving up everything you own.

Luke 14:33 (NLT)

Do we just speak the words we think God wants to hear?

Are our words of surrender to Him just a pathetic attempt to look and sound good? Or are we genuine?

It is easy to set here at my computer and write this devotional to you, but the real question is, am I really, honestly willing to say from the depths of my beingHere am I Lord, send me?

Are we really ready to give up everything we own to become what He is calling us to do for Him?

Jesus is speaking to us saying that ALL the “love's of our life” must become as hatred-in-comparison to our LOVE for HIM?

How in the world can a truly loving human being love in such an unimaginable way?

Only by the indwelling Holy Spirit of God who is Jesus in us!

Here am I, Lord …. ?
