I am not perfect. I often say things I regret. But, I am troubled by Christians who use the several "F" words that have invaded our culture and now our churches. They are degrading and unnecessary adjectives/expletives. How do I explain to an acquaintance who is a messenger of the Gospel (evangelist) that a popular word being used today should not be in his speech? It is a popular word with the young people. Does he realize what it means? Look up these words in the dictionary before you use them.

Did you ever sing...
“Oh, be careful little tongue what you say!
Oh, be careful little tongue what you say!
For our father up above is looking down in love,
so be careful little tongue what you say!”

Jesus said, "... What people say with their mouths comes from what fills their hearts." (Matthew 12:34) Mat_12:36 "And I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment."

The Greek word for idle is argos. Adam Clarke explains it this way, "...a word that does nothing, that neither ministers grace nor instruction to them who hear it." In this verse it refers to the words spoken against Jesus by the false Jewish Leaders. Do we realize that our idle words break the heart of our Savior?

How can tongues that gossip, use foul idle language also give praise, honor and glory to our Savior and Lord? Is not this tragic hypocrisy? We must repent or our idle words ... if we do not, our praise become a foul aroma to God.

Romans 14:12 (HCSB) So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God.

, before speaking ...

T - is it Thoughtful?
H- is it Helpful?
I- is it Inspiring/encouraging?
N- is it Necessary or Needful?
K - is it Kind?

The devil is attempting to destroy the family, remove decency, and Christian morals from our nation, even from our churches. We are being boiled like frogs in hot water and not even realizing it. Inch by inch, step by step, we are becoming numbed to his activity to destroy our effectiveness of testimony.

Please, be careful what you say, what words you are using in your vocabulary.

THINK, Lord God, fill our hearts and minds with Jesus! Replace idle words with good intelligent uplifting words!
